U-47 was the most successful ocean submarine of the German Kriegsmarine during the Second World War. She entered service in 1938. The ship became famous for a daring attack on a British naval base, during which she sank the battleship HMS Royal Oak. During her service, the crew of U-47 sank a total of 32 vessels with a total tonnage of 202514 tons. The ship disappeared in the Atlantic in March 1941, symbolically ending the period of success of German submarines. U-47 was a medium-sized vessel designed for long-term patrols in ocean waters. It had 857 tons of displacement in immersion. On the surface, its range was 6500 nautical miles, which it could cover at a speed of 12 knots. The depth of safe immersion was 220 meters. Under water, it sailed at a maximum speed of 8 knots. She was armed with 14 torpedoes that could be fired from 5 launchers. The crew consisted of 44 sailors and officers.
The model of the famous submarine was entirely designed from Polish COBI construction blocks in a sensational model scale of 1:144!
